First off, I'd like you to meet the lovely Karren Moorer. Karren has been working at All Hands for about a month now, as my studio assistant during workshops and open studio nights. She hails from Oakland and came to Santa Cruz as a college student at UCSC, where she graduated with a degree in Community Studies. She is an illustrator and grassroots activist who volunteers with the Resource Center for Non-Violence. Her support means very much to me, as it allows me to spend more time with my fam and give more attention to exciting new directions for the business. I hope you get to know her better the next time you're in the studio!
I also wanted to share that this Friday evening local sewist Julie Gires is kicking off her 4 week Sewing A Capsule Wardrobe class, and I'm taking it! I'm sooo excited because learning to sew my own clothes has been a long time dream of mine. How about you?? If so, come spend your Fridays nights in November with me and other fun maker friends as we begin our handmade wardrobe adventures.
