The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron is a both a book and a 13 week program to restore and sustain a creative life. It is a truly amazing guide and resource and is best utilized in a group to help encourage each other and bring forth our collective wisdom. Each time we gather, we will reflect on and share insights from that week's chapter and use creative writing exercises to expand our vision of what is possible. Whether you are a painter, writer, photographer, musician, actor, designer, entrepreneur or just generally looking for more creative empowerment, this will be a transformative experience.
All Hands Workshops’ Founder, Kendra Dosenbach, will be the group facilitator. Kendra began using the tools in The Artist’s Way ten years ago to help her complete a creative honors thesis at Harvard. Last July Kendra attended an in-person workshop with Julia Cameron and connected even more deeply with the nature and purpose of the approach to creative living the course promotes. She does not think it was a coincidence that within a week of that workshop the opportunity to start All Hands Workshops in downtown Santa Cruz presented itself. Following The Artist’s Way tends to make synchronicity a daily phenomenon.
The group will meet for 13 consecutive weeks. To make the most out of this unique opportunity, please plan to attend all 13 weeks. If this just isn’t possible, you can miss up to two meetings. This commitment and consistency greatly serves the community building in the group.
A light, healthy dinner will be provided, and you are also welcome to bring your own.
