Terry McInerney

Terry McInerney is a Santa Cruz leather worker. Ten years ago she walked into Leatherwise, a local leather store, and fell in love. The sight, touch and smell of leather spoke to her design sense on a deep level. Leather is a marvelous medium - tough, hardworking and functional - with a softer side. Just how Terry envisions her leather goods to be. Her aesthetic could be explained in one word: utility. She hand cuts, stitches and sometimes dyes her leather accessories. She uses traditional leather working techniques but with a contemporary feel. The goal of Terry’s leather work workshops is to make the skill of leather work accessible to the home crafter. With a little creativity and skill, and without a big monetary investment, students can create beautiful handmade leather goods at home.
